Con 83 participantes se ha iniciado esta mañana desde PortAventura World el 56 RallyRACC Catalunya-COSTA DAURADA, Rally de España 2021, penúltima prueba puntuable para el Campeonato del Mundo FIA de Rallies. Competitivamente, la jornada ha constado de dos pasadas por las especiales Vilaplana (20,00 km), La Granadella (21,80 km) y Riba-roja (14,21 km), con 112,02 km cronometrados de los 660,59 que formaban esta primera jornada, la más larga por la distancia a recorrer entre la zona de asistencia y la ubicación de los tramos.
Con Sébastien Ogier, líder provisional del mundial, y Elfyn Evans disputándose el título, ha sido el galés –junto a su copiloto Scott Martin– el más rápido en las tres especiales matinales con su Toyota Yaris WRC, aunque empatando en la segunda con el Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC de Thierry Neuville-Martijn Wydaeghe. Ello le ha permitido finalizar este primer bucle con una renta de casi 8 segundos sobre los belgas mientras Sébastien Ogier-Julien Ingrassia (Toyota Yaris WRC) rodaban en una cómoda tercera plaza a algo más de 12’’, seguidos de los españoles Dani Sordo-Cándido Carrera (Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC) a casi 17’’. El primer abandono importante era el de Takamoto Katsuta-Aaron Jonhston, que se salían de la carretera en el primer tramo y, aunque conseguían completarlo con su Toyota Yaris WRC, ya no podrían continuar.
Sin embargo en la repetición de las especiales la carrera daba un vuelco con Thierry Neuville marcando los mejores tiempos en Vilaplana y La Granadella, tras el cual se situaba como nuevo líder provisional con sólo 3 décimas de segundo sobre Elfyn Evans, que incluso tenía un toque al iniciar esta especial mientras en la anterior se retiraban Ott Tänak-Martin Järveoja (Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC), por salida de carretera. La jornada concluía con un nuevo mejor tiempo de Neuville-Wydaeghe, que finalizaban este primer día como líderes provisionales con solo 7 décimas de segundo de ventaja sobre Evans-Martin y con 19.4’’ sobre Ogier-Ingrassia. Mientras tanto, los españoles Sordo-Carrera han conseguido reducir la diferencia con las posiciones de podio, ocupando la cuarta plaza muy cerca de los franceses de Toyota.
Buena jornada también en el debut de Nil Solans-Marc Martí, que se ha saldado con algún que otro problema puntual al empañarse el cristal delantero del Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC en el segundo tramo y realizar un trompo en el tercero, debido al desgaste de los neumáticos delanteros, finalizando esta primera etapa novenos. En WRC2 son líderes Eric Camilli-Maxime Vilmot (Citroën C3 Rally2) y en WRC3 Reeta Hämäläinen-Emil Lindholm (Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo), con segunda posición de Pepe López-Borja Rozada (Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo) y quinta de Jan Solans-Rodrigo Sanjuán (Citroën C3 Rally2).
Mañana sábado día 16 se disputará la segunda etapa en la que se realizarán siete tramos cronometrados con 117,54 km de velocidad de los 489,96 totales. Se harán dos pasadas por las especiales de Savallà (14,08 km), Querol-Les Pobles (19,17 km) y El Montmell (24,40 km) más la urbana de Salou (2,24 km), con la que concluirá la jornada de nuevo en PortAventura World. La etapa empezará a las 7:15 horas y concluirá a partir de las 19:15.

56 RallyRACC, dia 1: Neuville-Wydaeghe (Hyundai) conquereixen el lideratge
Salou, 15 d’octubre de 2021.- Amb 83 participants ha engegat aquest matí a PortAventura World el 56 RallyRACC Catalunya-COSTA DAURADA, Rally de España 2021, penúltima prova puntuable per al Campionat del Món FIA de Ral·lis. En el terreny competitiu, la jornada ha constat de dues passades per les especials de Vilaplana (20,00 km), La Granadella (21,80 km) i Riba-roja (14,21 km), amb 112,02 km cronometrats d’un total de 660,59. Serà la jornada en què els trams estan més allunyats de la zona d’assistència.
Amb Sébastien Ogier, líder provisional del mundial, i Elfyn Evans disputant-se el títol del campionat, la parella Elfyn Evans-Scott Martin ha estat la més ràpida als tres trams del matí amb el seu Toyota Yaris WRC -tot i que al segon tram han empatat amb el Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC de Thierry Neuville-Martijn Wydaeghe. Els gal·lesos han acabat el primer bucle amb una renda de gairebé 8 segons sobre els belgues. Sébastien Ogier-Julien Ingrassia (Toyota Yaris WRC) rodaven a una còmoda tercera plaça, 12” per darrera, seguits per l’equip format per Dani Sordo-Cándido Carrera (Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC) a gairebé 17’’. El primer abandonament rellevant l’han protagonitzat Takamoto Katsuta-Aaron Jonhston, amb una sortida de carretera al primer tram. Tot i que han aconseguit portar el seu Toyota Yaris WRC fins al control d’arribada, s’han vist obligats a abandonar.
El segon bucle, però, portava sorpreses: Thierry Neuville marcava els millors temps a Vilaplana i La Granadella, i s’enfilava al capdamunt de la classificació provisional, a 3 dècimes de segon d’Evans, que tenia una petita topada. Ott Tänak-Martin Järveoja (Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC) abandonaven per sortida de pista, i la jornada acabava amb un millor temps també per a Neuville-Wydaeghe. Els belgues han conservat la primera posició de la general, 7 dècimes de segon per davant d’Evans-Martin, i a 19.4’’ d’Ogier-Ingrassia. Els espanyols Sordo-Carrera han retallat diferències respecte a les places de podi i han acabat quarts, a la saga dels francesos de Toyota.
Per a Nil Solans-Marc Martí ha estat un bon debut amb un WRC, malgrat algun problema puntual: al segon tram se’ls ha entelat el parabrisa del Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC, i han fet una virolla al tercer tram, quan els pneumàtics han perdut adherència per desgast. Han acabat la primera jornada a la novena plaça.
Al WRC2, Eric Camilli-Maxime Vilmot (Citroën C3 Rally2) liderenla classificació. A la categoria WRC3, s’han col·locat al capdavant Reeta Hämäläinen-Emil Lindholm (Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo), seguits per Pepe López-Borja Rozada (Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo). La cinquena posició l’ocupen ara per ara Jan Solans-Rodrigo Sanjuán (Citroën C3 Rally2).
Demà, dissabte 16, la segona etapa del ral·li inclourà set trams que sumen 117,54 km cronometrats d’un total de 489,96. Es faran dues passades per les especials de Savallà (14,08 km), Querol-Les Pobles (19,17 km) i El Montmell (24,40 km), per acabar amb l’etapa urbana de Salou (2,24 km), abans que els cotxes tornin a la base de PortAventura World. L’etapa començarà 7:15 hores i acabarà a partir de les 19:15 hores.

56 RallyRACC, Day 1: Neuville-Wydaeghe (Hyundai) take the lead
Salou, October 15th, 2021.- The 56 RallyRACC Catalunya-COSTA DAURADA, Rally de España 2021, second to last round of the FIA Rallys World Championship started today from PortAventura World. The competition consisted on two passes through the Vilaplana (20.00 km), La Granadella (21.80 km) and Riba-roja (14.21 km) stages, with 112.02 timed kilometres of the total 660.59 km of the day, the longest due to the distance between the service area and the stages.
With Sébastien Ogier, provisional leader of the championship, and Elfyn Evans fighting for the title, the Welsh driver - together with his codriver Scott Martin - was the fastest in the three morning stages with his Toyota Yaris WRC, although he tied in the second stage with the Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC driven by Thierry Neuville-Martijn Wydaeghe. That allowed him to end the loop with an advantage of nearly 8 seconds over the Belgian duo, while Sébastien Ogier-Julien Ingrassia (Toyota Yaris WRC) were in a comfortable third place more than 12’’ away, followed by the Spanish team Dani Sordo-Cándido Carrera (Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC) nearly 17’’ behind. The first important retirement was Takamoto Katsuta-Aaron Jonhston, who had an off in the first stage and although they could finish the stage with their Toyota Yaris WRC, they were not able to continue.
Nevertheless, in the second pass through the stages the race was turned upside down, as Thierry Neuville set the fastest time at Vilaplana and La Granadella. Afer that stage, he took the provisional lead, only 3 tenths over Elfyn Evans, who had a short off road excursion. In the previous stage, Ott Tänak-Martin Järveoja (Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC) retired due to another off. The day finished with yet another fastest time for Neuville-Wydaeghe, who ended the day as provisional leaders but with only 7 tenths over the Evans-Martin duo and 19.4’’ ahead of Ogier-Ingrassia. Meanwhile, Sordo-Carrera were able to reduce the difference with the podium positions and are in fourht place, very close to the French Toyota duo.
A good day too for the debut of the Nil Solans-Marc duo, that had a couple of hicups when the windshield became fogged up during the second stage and in the third they had a spin due to the front tyres wear. Despite that, though, they finished this first day in ninth place. Over at WRC2, the leaders are Eric Camilli-Maxime Vilmot (Citroën C3 Rally2) and in WRC3 the lead is for Reeta Hämäläinen-Emil Lindholm (Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo), with Pepe López-Borja Rozada (Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo) in second place and Jan Solans-Rodrigo Sanjuán (Citroën C3 Rally2) in fifth.
Tomorrow, Saturday the 16th, the second stage will take place with seven stages, 117.54 timed km out of a total of 489.96. It will consist of two passes through the stages of Savallà (14.08 km), Querol-Les Pobles (19.17 km) and El Montmell (24.40 km) plus the city stage of Salou (2.24 km), finishing the day again at PortAventura World. The day will start at 7:15 and finish from 19:15.
